The Other End launches Virtual Production House in Toronto, Vancouver

New company to offer full-scale facilities, expertise to agencies, producers, creators

TORONTO— January 25, 2022 —Toronto-based production company The Other End today announces the launch of Virtual Production House, a new subsidiary dedicated entirely to offering end-to-end virtual production services and studios. It is scaled to help writers, directors and producers of advertising, independent film and episodic content push the boundaries of what is possible in ways that are efficient, sustainable, and cost-flexible.

“We want to give producers every opportunity to realize their creative vision, full stop,” said Amir Endalah, Founder and CEO, The Other End. “That’s why we offer the location and our team of experts—so that agencies and producers have all the tools, support, and solutions they need to succeed in this highly creative, fast-growing industry.”

Virtual Production House will offer state-of-the-art virtual production stages in Toronto and Vancouver. It will also provide bespoke service from its specialized, diverse team of designers, developers and technical operators, as well as experts in visual effects, creative technologies, and motion control.

“We’re proud to bring The Other End’s innovation and expertise to the West Coast,” said Daniel Hsia, President, Virtual Production House Vancouver. “Amir and his team have been working at the forefront of virtual production for years, and together we look forward to bringing sustainable, cost-flexible filmmaking solutions to Vancouver.”

The launch reflects a growing demand for virtual production, which, as an agile process that is highly creative, efficient and reliable, complements and easily integrates with traditional production practices.

Globally, the virtual production market was valued at more than CAN$2 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach CAN$5.95 billion by 2028. Officials in Toronto say their city, specifically, is positioned as a global leader in Virtual Production and content creation workflow innovation.

About Virtual Production
Virtual production combines live-action (traditional) production techniques with digitally created environments and state-of-the art hardware. It connects live foregrounds with computer-generated backgrounds, then captures the results directly in-camera rather than shooting against a green screen and adding visual effects in post-production. Virtual production gives creators and storytellers access to hard-to-reach locations, providing a cost-flexible, environmentally friendly solution to modern filmmaking.
